"PURDY"

Hey Sam!
I just wanted to send you a funny photo of myself, Purdy and Frankie! I am in love with Purdy.. she is one of the sweetest little girls I have ever met in my life!! When I talked to your sister before she arrived, she was saying how Purdy was such a little ham!... and she sure is! She is too precious for words!!!!!! And she is such a little snuggle bug!! I love it!! :)
She's incredibly smart.. she already knows which door we go outside from.. and I don't know if you guys taught her sit and stay, but she's pretty awesome at it!
I just wanted to send you a quick e-mail and picture.. there will be a whole lot more to follow :)
We are taking both Purdy and Frank to the vet tomorrow and I will keep you posted on her treatment and everything!
Delena is so sweet.. she is amazing to make these trips all by herself.. every single dog seemed so safe and well taken care of, it was just so awesome! And is was so great seeing other families and their rescued dogs meet for the first time!!! So exciting :)
I hope things are good for you.. Delena told me that Angel still isn't using her legs... but don't give up, have faith! :) She's a strong willed little one Delena said.. I'm sure she's a fighter:) I'll say a little prayer for her.. and keep Purdy in your thoughts so she gets better.. I am so lucky to have this little girl in my life now.. we'll do everything we can to get her fully treated and recovered!! Let me know how Angel is doing!
-Nicole :)

"VANNA"

Hi Sam!

How are you doing? I hope your holidays went well. I just wanted to send a quick update and let you know Vanna is still doing GREAT! We went and visited our first nursing home last month. She was born for the job! All of the residents loved her and can't wait until she comes back. She also spent a whole day at a grade school, and loved it! She's so gentle with the kids! (now this school has preschool all the way to 8th grade)  I made sure to give credit to you guys on how you let kids come in and help out and play with the animals. She was spoiled on Christmas, not only from me, but all of my relatives made sure to give her something fun to play with. On New Years Eve we spent the night at one of my friends houses and she played with their dog the whole time. Then she slept in the bed with me (b/c she was allowed to there) and we kept each other warm b/c my friend and her husband are cheap on the heat! haha I felt like I was an eskimo sleeping with a sled dog.

All in all she's doing excellent and I couldn't be happier. Everyone she meets loves her. (They didn't want her to leave after she went to the groomers the other day!) She's up to 50lbs now! I've included some pictures to this e-mail.

Have a Happy New Year!
-Kelli

"Lizzie"

Hello Girls!  How are you doing?  We are doing great!  Lizzie is getting so comfortable here!  It is like she has been here all along!  We have a wonderful routine here with Lizzie.  We have been walking her 2 times a day and we play soccer out in the backyard a few times a day.  We just adore her!  Lizzie is just a perfect little girl and we are doing out best to spoil her ROTTEN!!!!!!!!!

Rob and I were just looking at the calendar and we noticed we have had her for a month already and we wanted to know what we need to do about Lizzie’s chip.  Do you need me to contact someone about the address change?  Please let me know.  Thank you!

I will sure to be in touch and I will send more photos soon!

"TREVOR"

Hi Sam,

Happy New Year.  Just wanted to give you an update on Trevor.

He is doing great...a full member of the family...and our dog pack :).   He has fit right in ...always playful, clearly very smart (I call him "clever Trevor"), which mostly he uses for good, not evil (he can be a bit tricky when he wants to get a bone from Jayke).  I take him for runs every morning with our other dogs and we take him to a local dog park almost every day -- he's made a slew of friends -- he plays with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and ages.

Trevor has grown quite a bit  (see the pic)...he's about 50 pounds already and still growing (paws still look big, he is tall, and he seems to have some excess skin he'll grow in to :)

He's a great dog. Thanks again for rescuing him and we are all happy we found him.

Regards,

Mark Burrell
PS If and when we want another dog, we know where to go...and we tell all our friends about AFTLOA.

"SISSY!"

Hi sam!! Here are some pics from our "photo shoot" with Sissy! She is just absolutely the love of our life, too wonderful for words!! I feel like I can't say enough about you and your family and how much you all truly care about both the animals you find homes for and the families in which you place the animals. My heart leapt the day you called to say you had a baby for us, and had searched every rescue trying to find the perfect match for us. We made the decision quickly that day to put faith in you and your family and decided to have sissy come join our family. We have never looked back on that decision and consider it one of the best we have ever made. Sissy adds so much not only to our lives, but everyone who meets her comments on what a wonderful dog she is. Her favorite place is a warm lap and although she will happily walk with you, she is much happier to be carried around like the little princess she is!! We can never thank you enough for what you have brought to our world, we wish you all the best and hope that you are always able to continue saving the lives of these very special babies. I also like to say that Sissy saved a human!!! Anyway, keep in touch we will send more pics as we get them!!!
Sincerely-Tina and Jesse

Macy and Misty!

Hi Sam,
Just want you to know that Mitchie (Macy) is doing TERRIFIC!

She took to us right away. She was shy and timid to come into the house, but got used to that. She loves the yard and chases the birds and squirrels.

She had a great night, no accidents in the house, no chewing, no problems. She is lovable and sweet. She loves the kids. She has been to both grandparents homes and they love and spoil her.

We took her to PetSmart today and got treats, a new bed and some toys. She got lots of attention from the staff there and they loved hearing she was rescued.

Macy has a vet's appt on Thurs and we'll take all the paperwork with us. Thanks for sending that over.

Macy is really the perfect match for us and will have the best life we can give her.

I took a bunch of pictures, but I'm not too handy on how to email photos, so if you have an address I can send them to, I'll get them to you ASAP.

We have recommeded you and your team to our family and friends. We were very pleased with the way the dogs were treated and cared for. They all looked terrrific on pick up day and it was clear that they were loved. There were alot of happy dogs and families that day.

Thanks for everything and we plan on being in touch often.

"SMIGEN"

Sam

Here are some pictures of Smidgen since he has been here

The first one was few days after he arrived and we had company.  I am the one in the pink on the left.  My son Andy is holding Smidgen, and my husband Ron is standing behind me.  On the right is my daughter Amy, holding Bessie. who she rescued from Georgia when  she was in school down there. My neice Nancy and her family are in the middle.  They visited us from Idaho, and she is the vet I told you about.

The next picture is Smidgen right after he arrived; he was a little confused but jumped right up on the couch and onto my husband's lap and sat there for hours!

The  next one is last Friday after he got home from the groomers.  They said I was lucky to get him back because they all wanted to take him home.

He is a real blessing to have around the house, and is already our little buddy,  He has become very comfortable, and enjoys walking through the woods and down our long driveway, and at the town green.

The other day was his first trip to the beach,  I wouldn't let him walk in the sand because I was afraid it would get into his eyes, but he seemed surprised to see all that water and smell all of those new odors!

Take care and thanks for sending Smidgen to us!

Ellen
